John Paris Oberhansly, 45, of Ogden, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1992 at St. Benedict’s Hospital after an extended illness.  He was born Feb. 10, 1947 in Ogden, a son of Vern Junior and Jeanette Smith Oberhansly.   He lived in Ogden for 24 years and graduated from Ogden High School, Weber State University and the University of Chicago.  He had been employed as as CPA/Controller for the Gannett/USAToday  for 15 years and was employed as a Controller for the Guam Cable Network.

He was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission to Switzerland and had been a ward clerk.

He was a very generous person and helped with many charities, among them the Meals on Wheels.

Surviving are this mother and stepfather Jeanette and Owen Searle, Roy; his father Vern J. Oberhansly, San Diego, California; four sisters, Mrs. Larry (Terri) Zaugg, Roy;  Mrs. Roger (Kristine) Lucas, Harrisville; Julie Folker, Clearfield; Mrs. Brian (Janet) Cherry, Riverdale; four stepsisters and one stepbrother.  Also surviving is his grandmother, Grace Oberhansly, Muskogee, Oklahoma; 113 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Larkin and Sons Mortuary, where friends may call Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.  Interment: South Morgan Cemetery, Utah.
